Thrown and decorated in a red shed on the water’s edge, in the heart of the Otago Peninsula
Located in the picturesque suburb of Broad Bay, Red Shed Pottery is the studio and workshop of artist Peter Henderson. Specialising in brightly coloured domestic ware and one-off art pieces, Peter’s work is inspired by the pristine natural environment of the Otago Peninsula and made to be used and enjoyed.
We invite you to drop in to watch Peter work, and to take a little piece of the Peninsula home with you. The studio is open every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.

A graduate of the Dunedin School of Art and a potter for more than four decades, Peter and Red Shed Pottery have been based in Broad Bay since 1999. Learn about Peter’s journey as an artist, his unique style, and how Red Shed Pottery came to be.

Red Shed Pottery is located at 681 Portobello Road, Broad Bay, just before the Broad Bay beach and boat club. The studio is open every Sunday, from 1pm to 4pm, and Peter welcomes visitors and the opportunity to explore his work in person.
